Our History

Let's Start At The Very Begining

On 18th Janruary 2013, Peter Fredrick Moll decided that there was more to life and there was more opportunities out there for youth to Stand Up Shout Out is a world renowned brand that speaks through actions and well coordinated campaigns. Stand Up Shout Out (SUSO) organisation that was born from a movement on 18th January 2013 that later on became an International NGO officially recognised by the name World Leaders Of Today in 2018; with the brand SUSO becoming the Main Program and face of the INGO.

Post COVID Era

The organisation at its height 2019 before COVID 19 was based in 21 countries world wide and 39 counties in Kenya, but due to COVID those operations worldwide were affected greatly and for the year 2020-2022 the main area of physical operation was Kenya and some parts of East Africa with a lot of online engagement within our African countries that we operate in. In 2022 we were privileged enough to be appointed lead of Africa Protected Areas Congress Youth engagement (APAC Youth) that saw our reach in Africa go to up to 23 plus countries covering all regions. From the year 2022 to date we saw a stability from Post COVID and steady growth once more as an organisation; that is currently operating across Africa in over 23 countries and within Kenya in operations in 20 counties in Kenya (with reach in 40 counties), with a full time staff of 12 and support team of 50 with 1000s of volunteers spanning across Kenya and Africa at large.

Our Ethi

Ubuntu

A beautiful philosophy that we as an organisation embody is the Ubuntu philosophy. Ubuntu (Zulu pronunciation: [ùɓúntʼù]) is a Nguni Bantu term meaning "humanity". It is often translated as "I am because we are," or "humanity towards others", but is used philosophically to mean "the belief in a universal bond of sharing that connects all humanity"

Ubuntu in SUSO is to help our SUSONIANS see themselves in relation to others. The saying goes “A person is a person through other persons - that my humanity is caught up, bound up, inextricably, with yours.” It is vital for our youth and all beings to grow up with self-awareness and awareness of self to others. It is the understanding that one can achieve set goals without taking advantage of others or destroying someone to be created. That there is space for everyone to be and flourish.
Additionally, Ubuntu helps SUSO members take responsibility for their community. A saying goes, “How can I be happy, when you are not.
Simply put; when we have made it, when we are happy, when we have spread our wings and flown, we should reach back and help those who are too scared to spread theirs.

Ubuntu is based on compassion, kindness, empathy and unity

Generation of light

We live in a time where we are surrounded by negativity; news in all channels, social media, television, radio etc. Accompanied with the pressures of society, it can be overwhelming to others and generations of hopeless people start to rise. We coined the phrase “Generation of Light,” which means a generation that brings positive change to society.

Our actions will be influenced by the need of reintroducing hope into the world - to ensure society understands all ongoing issues, and reassuring that they are the desired change.
We want the youth to be the light houses across the seven seas and ensure we uplift and spread love across the globe. Shining light in the darkness

Our Pillars

Our organization is built on two key pillars: Youth Engagement and Empowerment.

Together, these pillars drive our commitment to fostering active, capable, and impactful young leaders.

Youth Empowerment

We believe that our generation needs uplifting and we need an empowered youth if we are going to tackle any of the issues our society faces. We give youth the required tools, training and mindset to understand that they can play an active role in society. This is through different mediums:

Youth Engagement

We strongly believe that youth engagement goes hand-in-hand with youth empowerment. When we empower a generation we must give them platforms to apply the knowledge they have learnt through formal and informal education and from the organisation itself. Application of knowledge is key and as a generation we must learn that our power lies in the actions we use for problem solving in society, to fill the gap left by society’s lack of care and kindness. We give opportunities to nurture dreams and opportunities to explore talents; opportunities to expand skill sets while having a
