BONGA NA GAVA

Bonga Na Gava (BNG) is a SUSO policy and advocacy tool/ platform, which aims to provide  a safe space for youth and communities,  to engage with government policy, laws & regulations. It enables youth to formally present their views on biodiversity protection and climate change,  crucial issues for our future. Through this tool, we aim to amplify youth and communities’ voices in government decision-making,  recognising that shaping the future requires active involvement from the onset.

OBJECTIVES

Inclusion of the Youth and Community Voice in Creation of Laws, Policies and Regulations 

The input  of the youth and communities is crucial for creating inclusive and sustainable policies. As stewards of the future, it is crucial for  young people to actively engage in decision-making s that impacts their lives and the environment. By involving youth and communities, we ensure diverse perspectives, leading to outcomes that meet  the needs and aspirations of all stakeholders.

Addressing Critical Issues:

Biodiversity protection and climate change are urgent challenges requiring  immediate action. The SUSO BNG Policy and Advocacy tool addresses these  issues,  empowering youth and communities to actively participate in  policy formulation. Through BNG, individuals and groups gain access to analysis, expert insights, and relevant information on draft policies, proposed laws, and regulatory reforms. This enables them to make informed decisions and provide well-considered comments to government agencies.

Securing a Nature Positive 2030:

Looking beyond the present challenges, Our vision is to create a biodiversity legacy for our nation, ensuring a livable climate for future generations. However, the current trajectory poses a threat necessitating urgent action. As young people, we are committed to actively shaping a nature-positive 2030. Through engagement in decision-making processes, we aim to create a 2050 where everyone benefits from biodiversity and lives in harmony with nature.
